RESOURCES:

• Welcoming America, in partnership with Refugee Welcome Collective, through funding by the U.S. Department of State, has developed a new self-paced training to support the work of people engaged in or considering participating in refugee community sponsorship and for people who want to move their local immigrant inclusion and belonging efforts from individual or small group welcoming to a whole-of-community approach. 
• With 150+ specific policy opportunities featured across 13 policy priorities, Connective Tissue provides both a holistic policy vision for regenerating connection within communities and tangible entry points for taking action.  
• How migrants, asylum seekers and refugees seek health care in the US: A primer and research roundup: This Journalist's Resource article is highlights facts about the numerous health challenges faced by immigrants and the health care options available to them.
• Map the Impact:  Use this American Immigration Council's interactive map to get comprehensive state and local immigration data. Click your state or county to get started. 
• The Case for Inclusion and Belonging in a Divided America:  This overview contains data, talking points, assessment tools, and resources to help build internal organizational support.
• Confronting Compassion Fatigue: Understanding the Arc of Public Support for Displaced Populations in Turkey, Colombia, and Europe is a report released in January 2024 that helps us understand how public sentiment towards refugees changes. 
• Launched in June 2023, the Illustrate Change online database supported by Johnson & Johnson aims to promote racial health equity by increasing imagery of people of color.
• Released in June 2023, this report called Building Meaningful Refugee Participation into Protection Policymaking explores what motivates states, international organizations, and other actors to implement refugee participation initiatives, what forms these initiatives take, and what their limitations are. 
• The Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) identifies and measures integration policies across 56 countries.   Countries receive a score and are classified based on how well their integration policies cover issues such as securing basic rights, supporting equal opportunities, and leading to positive long-term outcomes. 
• City ID Cards.  In the United States, a city (or municipal) identification card is a form of identification card issued by a municipality, such as a city, rather than a state or federal government. Under federal law, cities may issue their own identification cards as they see fit, and do not have to consider the immigration or criminal status of an applicant before doing so. • Advancing A Welcoming Infrastructure for Humanitarian Relief. The digital version of this guide is available for download. In this new guide, Welcoming America and the Welcoming International Alliance outline five ways for local leaders to create equitable and welcoming environments as part of the response to humanitarian relief.
